Title project: Water Crisis- Thirsty World
Briefing: This brief requires to work as a team on a challenge provided by waterAid to raise awareness of the global water crisis. We all share the understanding of how vital the water is in our human experiences of this element unite us in addressing this global problem. By creating a campaign that is ambitious, unapologetic, yet self aware in its intentions to capture the attention and support of young people.
The issue: Water is vital for life. The pressure placed on the worlds water supplies is growing yearly, but not much is being done. 1 in 9 people live without safe, reliable water supply.
About client: Wateraid works in 28 countries around the world, it aims to help over one million people get access to water and feel the water effect by installing taps, toilets. We need to reach everyone, everywhere. By holding governments accountable for delivering services that are built to last in homes schools and health centres so clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene in provided to everyone with human rights for it.
Challenge: water is the silent emergency. make a meaningful connection to a youth demographic 16-25 year olds.
- Final outcome: Can be physical activation, an experience, digital- scope of medium is limitless
- What would genuinely capture your attention and make share a charity campaign?
- Concept will be competing for attention: how will you make it count?
- fresh thinking!
- climate change: what problems are caused on the long run if we don’t start making change?
My ideas for the brief: illustrations created digitally
Starting some brainstorming with ideas of how the campaign might look and what the feel of it will be. I started thinking of water, and how without it there is not chance of survival, and I realised that I have to look at this problem very seriously, that without clean water and clean hygiene there are no people on the planet. Without these simple need we cannot grow and live the life we want. We are programmed like this.
I started thinking of death and life, merged together with a drop of water, and this is what I have created so far. The line work showing the beep of the heart monitor is created in order to show us humanity, being alive because of water. Almost 73% of water forms part of your heart and brain. This means that 60% of water is also in human body and about 83% of water is in your lungs.

19th November 2019 Group Meeting and Discovery, Inspiration and Ideation
Video Idea: Our video idea is inspired by the polish youtuber Wlodek Markowicz, who has always inspired me with his videos. I have showed
Scenes for our video idea: Everyday routine such as washing dishes, shower, close ups of the themes, floods, dry season, drinking, rain. The text for the video will be a narrative story or poem that will hit people with reflection and rhetorical questions about the crisis of water.
The filming part will be done by all of use, we have 6 people in our group, Sophie, Kat, Caterina, Maria, Elif and me. Everyone is going away for chrimstas break for the whole month to their countries, which means all these different parts for our video will be recorded there, Norway, Iceland, Turkey, Portugal, Spain and Poland. This way, we are able to make this video globally inspired.
Quality of water in some countries are really bad
Quality of toilet
What are the methods that we want to use in the video?
>Repeating words and structures
> rhetorical questions are key
How are we going to make it global?
>different languages
>water in public places being wasted
> show our video in a public place using the method of silence disco with hedphones: this will allow us to engage with the public in an emotional way
